Jay-Z writing score for The Great Gatsby remake

I came across this story in my feed yesterday. I will say that I am quite intrigued by this decision. I know some won’t take kindly to the idea, but I am more open to this than I am to seeing Toby Maguire and Leonardo DiCaprio as Nick Carraway and Jay Gatsby. I wasn’t very fond of the decision to remake The Great Gatsby when I first heard it. I have no problem with books being adapted into movies( see my last post), but I feel that the first movie did a great with the overall storytelling and had fantastic casting. Let’s face it, Leo is no Robert Redford. And let’s not bring up Peter Parker trying to fill Jack McCoy’s shoes. But since I have no sway in Hollywood, I will probably catch this movie on DVD or possibly in theaters if the reviews are good.
