Books really do make the best movies

Last night Drexel had a showing of Les Miserables, and I started to think about the rising number of movies ( in this case a musical) adapted from popular books. Then I found an article mentioning that 5 of the top 2013 Oscar winning movies were adapted from books. This stat is great for me, because it means that not only is Hollywood out of original ideas, but the movies they are making from books are pretty good ( I recently watched Silver Linings Playbook and Life of Pi, great movies). So since I’m not a big reader, I can look forward to having 4-5 Oscar winning movies adapted from books each year.
