Zoe Strauss’ billboards

Some people may have noticed the billboards with the “Don’t Forget Us” photo right next to Drexel’s campus. I pass the billboards everyday coming from 30th Street Station and was wondering exactly what they were about, but didn’t get a chance to look into it. Turns out they are part of a series of photographs by Zoe Strauss and are on billboards all over Philadelphia. The photos are meant to take away spaces for advertising and portray representations of “real” American life instead. More of the photos are on display at the Philadelphia Museum of Art until April 22nd.
