The World in Only Six Words

Can you sum up your life and/ or who you are in six words? Or even write a story with the same amount?

Apparently there are quite a few people who think so and a Google search leads to many sites dedicated to six-word stories. It all started in the 1920s, not surprisingly with  Ernest Hemingway who proved that it is possible by writing a short story in six words. His colleagues didn’t believe he could do it and ended up losing that bet.

What does it mean to condense a story or person to six words and can it ever be enough to convey the appropriate amount of emotion? In my opinion, these short short stories are intriguing and may lead to you to want more. However, that wish cannot be fulfilled and it is up to you – the reader – to imagine what brought these six words together.

Sitting down to find the right words doesn’t seem that easy as my mind wants me to add more, but for now I think this fits:

Writer/photographer artistically creating my world.

or

Soon to graduate. No job yet.

If you had to write a six-word story what would it be?
