Great American author, J. D. Salinger, died today at the age of 91 in his home in Cornish, N.H. Mr. Salinger was best known for his post World War II novel, “The Catcher in the Rye.” He also published the collection “Nine Stories,” “Franny and Zooey” and “Raise High the Roof Beam, Carpenters and Seymour: An Introduction.”
Interestingly, after his book was released in 1951, Mr. Salinger shunned fame and lived in privacy for over 50 years. A high school English class favorite, he will be truly missed by all.
