Laughter is the Best Medicine (next to chocolate)

Last friday I attended the Comedy Writing Event for WoW. The event included a panel presentation of four comedic writers/improv actors. The event was a major hit and drew a large crowd. The most memorable part of the presentation was when English Professor Don Riggs asked host Professor Fred Segal what the difference was between comedy and tragedy. Most of the panel presenters gave a different answer, but my favorite was Professor Segal’s response – “timing.”   After the panel discussion, a bunch of us headed into the dance studio where we watched/partook in improv comedy exercises. I was laughing so hard that my cheeks hurt! It seems a good time was had by all. If you missed the event, but are interested in seeing an improv show check out the Drexel Football Team (Drexel’s very own improv comedy group) next friday, May 29th, in Matheson Hall 109.
